Scaling reflects how strong a course’s students were across all their courses. It doesn’t reward a course for being hard. A strong mark in a course you’re good at nearly always beats a weak mark in one that scales well.
Your place inside a course never changes. If you beat 80% of the course in HSC marks, you sit in the same place in scaled marks.
